Its not easy being green
In celebration of Earth Day, 2008 I'm starting my first blog! Ushering me into the modern world and all its wonders/conflicts. This blog is my personal journal of thoughts, experiences, questions and concerns in thirty years of living in and studying the natural world that surrounds us all. But out of necessity we can't sit back, observe and enjoy all the intricacies of life. We have to fight for it. I am on my own path to figure out how that's done. How do we recreate the built environment that we've imposed on the natural? And how do we make sure this process is equitable and involves every single one of us? SO please sit down and let's talk about what we can do. Each one of us. Juntos SI SE PUEDE.

I feel for you Ixchel! You have to live with a Mexican and a meat eater. You're right, it's not easy being green pero Si Se Puede!

Oh wise one :)
Long ago and in a far, far away time we-the human race-were made the guardians of our planet.
Unfortunatly in the pursuit of progress we have lost that role. We also lost our contact with the planet.
When you place your had on the trunk of a tree you no longer feel what it needs-only bark.
The plants and animals that are around us now do not know us.
They are simply echos of things that we were once connected to.
Those relationships between the souls of men, animals and plants are long gone.
In our neverending search for progress we have forgotten to water the plants:) so to speak.
What if that one flower that we cut the forest for contains the cure for cancer ? Who will ever know?
The future does not lay in what is around you now, the future lays in what you connect with in the future.
Just my thought on your comment.
